On 8-14-2004, Tuxedo's Clark Gable (Clark), crossed over the Rainbow Bridge.  Clark was 11 years old.  Clark was out of BIS Ch. Laurell's Going Hollywood (Holly) bred to Ch. Cloverdale High Heritage (Gabriel).  Clark was always so full of fun, he would try so hard to shove his face into
the tennis ball jar, and he loved playing with his best pal, Ollie!

John & I picked him out of a litter with his breeder Melody Weil one cold Ohio day in 1993.  Melody has bred some fine dogs, and Clark was living proof.  I showed Clark for awhile and then he found he was much happier with Dennis & Jan as a lap dog than a show dog.  Thank you Melody for a great dog, and thank you Dennis & Jan for caring for him for over 10 years.

Clark was right at home with Dennis & Jan, no matter if they were traveling, riding, camping, or watching TV.  Clark got along with everyone and everything, even the horses and cats.  Dennis rescued a black lab puppy, Ollie,  a few years ago and he and Clark soon became best pals.

Clark had been battling a fever for about 3 weeks recently, numerous tests and 3 rounds of different antibiotics didn't break the fever, and hadn't told us the problem.  X-rays and an ultrasound followed, the chest x-ray showed suspicious spot on Clark's lung, and the ultrasound looked fine, healthy organs, but the fever remained.  More blood work was done and 2 different types of cancer were suspected that mimic the symptoms of hemangeosarcoma.  But, since the tests were not truly conclusive the multiple Vet's helping were not recommending chemo because they could not be sure of the exact type of cancer to treat.

I went to visit Clark last Sat., 8/7/04 and he was bright eyed, alert and so happy to see me.  Dennis was scheduled for hip surgery  the following Tuesday and Jan was hopeful that Clark would be there to greet Dennis when he returned home from the hospital.  But, Sat., 8/14/04 was a sad day, Clark collapsed on the bedroom floor.  Jan called Dr. Irene, who rushed over, but Jan had no choice but to put him to sleep, as Clark was bleeding internally.

Clark passed away at home in Jan's arms with Dr. Irene close at hand .  Jan always held Clark tight.  Dennis was still in the hospital healing from a hip surgery, but Clark fell asleep hearing Jan's last words from both she & Dennis "We love you Clark".  Dr. Irene was so kind and gentle that Clark just fell asleep in Jan's arms.  Thank you Dr. Irene for ending his pain.

Clark is now at home with Jan & Dennis, where he will always be with them, Cody, and Mandy.  Clark is running & playing in the heavenly sunshine with Cody & Mandy, and lots of other Goldens and none are in any pain!!

Dennis & Jan will miss him terribly.  Clark was a very, very special dog to Dennis & Jan, the special ones come along once-in-a-blue-moon.  I know I will miss him very much, too.

Hugs to all of your babes for they don't live long enough!!!   Cindy
